Brand new Optibelt timing belt kit for Volkswagen Group EA288 1.6L and 2.0L TDI common rail diesel engines. Optibelt is a German OEM supplier to Porsche, Volkswagen, Volvo, Renault, and Mercedes-Benz — this is genuine OEM-grade quality, not cheap aftermarket.
The EA288 is an interference engine — if the timing belt fails, it will bend valves and cause major internal engine damage. VW recommends replacement every 5 years or 100,000km, whichever comes first. Always replace the tensioner and idler at the same time as the belt.
