Returns, Refunds & Warranty Policy

Last updated: 17 June 2026 — We've refreshed our policies to make them clearer, fairer, and easier to understand. Everything you need is now in one place.

At LRI Autoparts, we want you to buy with confidence. This page explains your rights, the warranty on our parts, and how returns and refunds work. If anything's unclear, or you're not 100% sure you've got the right part, please reach out — our team is genuinely here to help, both before and after your purchase.

Getting the right part — we're here to help

The easiest way to avoid a return is to make sure the part is right the first time, and we're more than happy to do that with you.

  • It's your responsibility to confirm the part suits your vehicle.
  • Send us your VIN and our team will match it for you — this is free and we'd genuinely rather check first.
  • If our team matches the part and it turns out to be wrong, we'll make it right at no cost to you.
  • If you order without asking us to match it and it's the incorrect part, the return and exchange shipping costs are yours.

When in doubt, just ask — a two-minute message can save you the hassle.

Change-of-mind returns (within 14 days)

Changed your mind or ordered something you no longer need? No problem, within 14 days.

  • You have 14 days from receiving your item to request a return.
  • The part must be unused, complete, and in its original condition and packaging, with your proof of purchase.
  • Returns travel at your risk, so please pack them carefully — items that reach us damaged aren't eligible for a refund.
  • Contact us first to start a return. Items sent back without an approved return can't be accepted.
  • A 20% restocking fee and the original postage cost will be deducted from your refund.
  • After 14 days we're unable to accept change-of-mind returns. (Your ACL rights for a faulty part continue well beyond this — see below.)

Want to swap to a different part? Exchanges are easy — and we don't charge a restocking fee when you're exchanging for another part. Just send the original back in its original condition and we'll sort the swap. (The 20% restocking fee only applies when you'd prefer a refund instead of an exchange.)

Need to cancel an order? If you let us know before your order has been packed for dispatch, we'll happily cancel and refund it, less the 1.8% card processing fee our payment provider charges and doesn't return to us. Once an order has been packed or dispatched, the change-of-mind terms above apply.

Items we can't accept for change-of-mind returns

  • Programmed and special-order parts (for example, coded ECUs and TCUs). These are prepared specifically for your vehicle, so we class them as special-order items. There are no change-of-mind refunds on these — but they're still covered by warranty if faulty.
  • Electrical items (for example, headlights and tail lights). Once dispatched these can't be re-tested or resold, so we can't take them back for change of mind. Please confirm fitment with our team before ordering.

This only means we can't take these back because you've changed your mind — if any of these arrive faulty or incorrect, you're still fully covered (see the next section).

If your item is faulty, damaged, or incorrect

Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives and let us know straight away if anything's wrong — we'll evaluate it and make it right.

  • If a part we supplied is faulty, we reserve the first right to replace it. We'll resupply the same part where it's in stock.
  • If the part is not in stock, we'll refund your order in full.
  • No restocking fee or postage deduction applies to faulty, damaged, or incorrect-item returns.

Warranty

Unless your invoice or the product listing states otherwise, all parts are sold on a parts-only basis with the following cover:

  • Used parts — 3 months, unlimited km
  • New parts — 6 months, unlimited km

Some listings may specify a different period, which will be noted in the ad. Our voluntary warranty is non-transferable and applies to the original purchaser.

Labour and other costs. Our warranty covers the part only. It does not cover labour, removal or refitting, towing, hire cars, downtime, or loss of income.

Installation. To be eligible for warranty, the part must be installed by a licensed mechanic or workshop. This protects you as much as us — professional fitment avoids the install damage that can occur with DIY jobs, and keeps your warranty intact.

Protecting your warranty

To keep your warranty valid, please make sure that:

  • the part is fitted by a qualified, licensed tradesperson;
  • correct oils and lubricants are used and kept at the correct levels;
  • supporting components are serviced before fitment — radiator, fan belts, hoses, thermostat, radiator cap, and all air, oil, and fuel filters; and
  • wear items are checked and replaced where needed — oil seals, timing belts, water pump, diesel injection pump, injectors, and manifolds. These items, and any damage resulting from their failure, are not covered.

Please note:

  • Aftermarket performance modifications — turbos, blow-off valves, boost controllers, exhausts, tunes, or anything that alters factory specifications — may void your warranty.
  • All parts are sold bare unless your invoice states otherwise. Any accessories fitted are supplied for your convenience only and aren't covered.
  • Warranty is void if a part is dismantled, altered, tampered with, misused, abused, or incorrectly installed. Returned items must be complete and in original condition (packaging aside).

Making a warranty claim

  1. Stop using the part at the first sign of a problem — continuing to run it may cause further damage.
  2. Contact us immediately so we can advise on next steps.
  3. If we ask, return the part (or vehicle) to us or to a repairer of our choosing for inspection. Freight is prepaid by you.
  4. Include your official LRI Autoparts invoice.

Shipping & dispatch

  • Orders placed before 12pm are dispatched the same day — except special-order or programmed items (such as ECUs), which need preparation time before they ship.
  • We use only Australia's most reliable carriers to give your order the best chance of arriving safely and on time.
  • Any delivery times shown are an estimate (ETA) only. Once your order is with the carrier, timing is out of our control and can't be guaranteed — but if a parcel goes quiet, we'll always help you chase it up.

Deposits, freight & ownership

  • Holding deposits are non-refundable after 24 hours. We can hold parts for a maximum of 2 weeks unless agreed otherwise in writing.
  • Delivery to you. We'll make sure your order reaches you as described and undamaged. If it's lost or damaged in transit, just contact us — we'll resupply it (or refund in full if it's out of stock). You're covered.
  • Freight you arrange. Where you ask us to arrange specialised freight or a broker (for example, oversized or vehicle freight), or you arrange your own carrier, that transport may not be insured and the transit risk sits with that arrangement. We'll let you know before booking so you can add cover.
  • Returns. For change-of-mind returns, return postage and transit risk are yours, and items that arrive back damaged aren't eligible for a refund.
  • Goods remain the property of LRI Autoparts Pty Ltd until paid for in full.
  • Please collect parts or vehicles within 2 weeks of being notified they're ready. Storage charges may apply after this time.
  • Registration and state laws differ between states. Please check the rules in your state — we can't advise on your individual situation or guarantee registration.
  • Body panels are sold as-is. You inspect them and rely on your own judgement, and they'll only be exchanged if we supplied the incorrect part.

Refunds

Once we've received and inspected your return, we'll let you know whether your refund is approved. Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method. Please allow a little time for your bank or card provider to process and post it.
